Within 24 hours of the eruption, we were on our way to view the new eruption at Kilauea at the Halemaumau crater on January 6, 2023. The view of the lava lake was incredible from the Chain of Craters Road outlook area.
This eruption is continuing to fill the crater which then provides a significant glow from around the entire crater viewing area.
Get to Volcanoes National Park after the crowds around 9 pm!
